(ARA) - If you have the discipline to stick to it, this simple adage -- make one corner beautiful at a time -- can transform your decorating dreams from overwhelming to manageable and rewarding.

The idea is by no means new. As the story is told, a young New England bride in the late 1800s was faced with the seemingly overwhelming task of hand sewing the obligatory curtains for nine large windows gracing the front of her impressive Federal-style home on the town’s main street. “Make one corner beautiful at a time,” counseled a wise village elder. Convention not withstanding, the greatly relieved bride turned her efforts toward creating a livable sitting room for herself and her groom, the unused upstairs bedrooms getting attention in due time. Here is another project designed by Danielle Mac Innes from Fuse Interiors, awarded ‘Best Newcomer’ at Ireland’s premier interiors show, Interior Design2008, she has been widely recognized by the media for her fresh and unique style. This apartment was part of a new residential development situated in Dublin. The client was a large property developer and the brief was to create a unique, contemporary look that would appeal to a young market while bringing a fresh feel to the development.

Interior Design (Rug)

Check out the above stunning rug Kyle Bunting made for me for a client a few years ago. The piece took center stage in the apartment and was featured in Interior Design magazine. As soon as I began working on the rug with Kyle, I knew I was in good hands. Not only was he extremely responsive (and spoke with a soothing slight Texan drawl), but he sent me computer images of what the rug would look like before construction, and I was able to make edits, and he made the rug quickly, and there were seemingly no length limitations. Furthermore, the rug was so thin I didn’t have to worry about doors fitting over it. It was consciously designed to minimise the volume of water yet maximise comfort. This is seen by the raised rear that compliments one's slanting posture and the tall head rest. The bath tub provides a comfortable and emotional experience through various materials, while creating a bold statement in amodern bathroom.

The Kensington House designed by SHH Architects under the supervision of ‘Rene Dekker is a vision in itself. The house includes a reception room, large formal dining room, family room, cinema, pool room and six bedrooms. Every room in this London townhouse is like a postcard with mesmerising details and offers generous living space. The challenge for SHH was to create a complete interiors scheme (something ‘Cream, off-white and funky’ was the brief) for the six storey, 1,114 sq m house and you got to say that they did a terrific job here. The design has also won the 4 Star Award for Best Interior Design at the Daily Mail UK Property Awards.
